Now you can make Count Down Chicken Fusilli from Alien Pizza Planet at home with this original recipe from Disneyland. One of my favorite dishes is available to recreate at home and it’s so easy.
We’ve been going here for years cause the kids love the pizza! And this Disney mom is happy to oblige cause then she gets to have her favorite meal at this location the Count Down Chicken Fusilli. And what’s even better, now I don’t have to be at Disneyland to partake of this delicious meal. I can make it at home!
Recipes at City Hall
A few years ago I learned a fun tip. You could go to City Hall and get a copy of the recipe for your favorite food item(s) sold in the parks.
This recipe that I’m going to share with you came directly from Disneyland, all credit goes to them. Sadly you can no longer ask for recipes at City Hall for food in the parks. They are transferring all recipes to a digital system, that will be available to everyone online at some point. I will be sure to share on this post when they are available. If you’re looking for other yummy Disneyland recipes on the blog head over here.
Let’s get started! First thing I gathered all my ingredients.
Count Down Chicken Fusilli recipe
- 5 oz. Alfredo sauce mix
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup low-fat milk
- 1 cup water
- 2 oz. grated parmesan cheese
- 1 oz. sun-dried tomato crumbles
- 3 oz. pesto sauce
- 2 lbs. dry fusilli pasta
- 1 lb. sliced smoked/seasoned chicken breast
Directions
Step 1: Fill your pot with water and cook pasta as indicated on the package. You will notice I used penne pasta cause that’s what I had on hand. Use any pasta type you like, but the recipe calls for fusilli pasta.
Step 2: While the pasta is cooking make the sauce. Combine Alfredo sauce, heavy cream, low-fat milk, water, parmesan cheese, sun dried tomatoes and pesto sauce. Bring the sauce to a boil then turn down the heat to low and simmer 8-10 minutes stirring occasionally.
Step 3: Cut up cooked seasoned chicken. I used a pre-cooked packaged of seasoned chicken from Sam’s Club. The recipe calls for smoked chicken breast. Here is a photo of what I used.
Step 4: Assemble each plate. Top cooked pasta with chicken and cover with pasta sauce. Sprinkle parmesan cheese and sun dried tomatoes (optional).
You will notice I didn’t add sun dried tomatoes. I didn’t have any and the dish was fine without them. I even think next time I might add some bacon! I would suggest not using as much water as the recipe calls for. I like a thicker sauce, so I will change that the next time I make this dish. I was very excited to serve this meal and my family scarfed it up. It was spot on and tasted just as delicious as if I was right back at Alien Pizza Planet.
Makes 4-6 Servings
