We had the opportunity to stay at The Anaheim hotel during our last visit to Anaheim. We were invited by the hotel to come and stay in one of their remodeled rooms. I have driven past this hotel hundreds of times and recently noticed all the work they’ve been doing to the hotel. All of the rooms, as of September 2020, have been remodeled. Let’s begin with some information about the hotel and then I will share my review of our stay.
About the room
We stayed in a room with two queen beds and a balcony on the 2nd floor. We had a park view of Guardians of the Galaxy!
The room included a big TV, mini fridge, desk, chair, tub/shower and large dresser for storage. We didn’t have a microwave in our room, but if you need a microwave they have one in the lobby you can use. Here are some photos of our room. I will include more photos at the end of this post if you’d like to see more.
So close to Disneyland
One of the biggest perks you get staying at The Anaheim hotel is the proximity to the parks. You can look across the street from the lobby and see Guardians of the Galaxy attraction inside Disney California Adventure. It is a short 5-7 minute walk to Disneyland. After a long day in the parks what a relief to be so close.
Olympic size pool
Another enticing amenity is the Olympic size swimming pool at the hotel. And the pool is heated year round with a jacuzzi nearby. Currently they offer Dive in movies on the weekends too. The pool is centrally located on the property. The grounds at the hotel are maintained beautifully and I love the color scheme of each building.
More helpful hotel information
A few things to mention – breakfast is available, but not included. Next door and connected to the lobby is the Pizza Press. They serve breakfast items in addition to their normal lunch/dinner menu. You can even have them deliver to your room. Guests at the hotel get a discount at the Pizza Press.
Also guests pay a parking fee overnight of $18 per day. This price is not included in your rate per night.
Speaking of parking, anyone can park at the hotel. Public parking is available to anyone at The Anaheim hotel for $25.00 per day. So even if you’re not staying there but need a place to park close to Disneyland this is another option.
My review
Our stay at The Anaheim hotel was enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful. They offered contactless check in and checkout. Plus they had hand sanitizer as well as health and safety reminders throughout the property. The remodeled rooms at this 3 star hotel were good with a fun retro vibe. I feel like the proximity to the parks is one of the best selling points of this hotel. The room was pretty basic and functional which is what I need when I come to Disneyland. I don’t usually spend much time in the room. The bed was comfortable and that’s important after a long day at the parks. I feel like this hotel is great for someone looking for a hotel super close to Disneyland at an affordable rate. Some of the hotels across the street from Disneyland are old and run down. I mean the park did open in 1955! This hotel is updated, remodeled and across the street! I recommend checking out this hotel on your next visit to Anaheim.
Currently Disneyland is still closed, but The Anaheim hotel is open! Plus they are offering a Stay-cation package that starts at $270.00 for the weekend and includes deluxe accommodations for two nights, a $40.00 food and beverage credit, Free Dive ‘N’ Dine movies on Friday and Saturday nights and late check out on Sunday. So if you’re looking for a quick visit to Downtown Disney this would be a great option.
