The newly renovated Residence Inn Anaheim Area hotel located only 1.5 miles from Disneyland is one of my top choices for your vacation stay. Over the years I have stayed at The Residence Inn Anaheim many times with my family and friends. We choose this hotel for many reasons which I will explain below. As a guest that has stayed there often, I was excited when the hotel reached out and invited me to come check out their newly renovated rooms. So while my recent stay was hosted, I have paid many times in the past to stay at The Residence Inn. My opinions and thoughts are based on my experience both in the past and now. About the rooms
All rooms at The Residence Inn are suites with a separate living space and bedroom. There’s a full size sofa sleeper, table, chair, TV, dining table and chairs in each living room space. As well as a furnished kitchen with full size appliances… refrigerator, stove, oven*, microwave, dishwasher and dishes. (*no oven in the 1 king bedroom suite.)
The bedroom has either one king bed or two queen beds. Some room types have two separate bedrooms including twin beds in one option. Some suites have 1 or 2 bathrooms as well. And the bathroom is separate from the vanity area.
There are 5 different room types to choose from and they have ALL been updated and remodeled.
- 1 bedroom suite with 1 king and sofa bed, 1 bathroom
- 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen and sofa bed, 1 bathroom
- 2 bedroom suite with 1 bedroom king, 1 bedroom 2 single beds and sofa bed with 2 bathrooms
- 2 bedroom suite with 1 bedroom two queens, 1 bedroom 2 twin beds bunked and sofa bed with 2 bathrooms
- 2 bedroom suite with 1 bedroom king, 1 bedroom two queens and sofa bed with 2 bathrooms
Here are some photos of different room types.
I mentioned that the rooms were recently remodeled and completed in January 2021. I have some BEFORE and AFTER photos to share. See photos below for a great comparison of a previous stay and my recent March 2021 stay in the 2 bedroom king suite.
And if you’d like to add some magic to your room you can add as seen in the photo above some gift bags to your room before arrival. The Make it Magical package includes two gift bags with a plush, snack, ears and more. Extra fee applies.
Breakfast included
One of the things my kids still talk about at this hotel is the awesome HOT breakfast. They have waffle makers, hot foods, cereal, fruit, yogurt and more. The menu changes daily. Then you decide if you want to eat outside on the beautiful patio, take your food to your room or on the go.
So close to Disneyland
The Residence Inn is conveniently located 1.5 miles, a short drive 5-7 minutes to Disneyland. There is also a bus stop in front of the hotel. Use the Anaheim Resort Transportation to get to and from the park. Or you could take an Uber/Lyft for a small fee (about $5-7).
Also guests pay a parking fee overnight of $22 per day. This price is not included in your rate per night. But if you book a room through Get Away Today the parking fee is waived!
Pool area with fire pit and more
On the premises there is a main pool, kiddie pool and hot tub located outside under the palm trees. The pools are heated year round for your convenience. In addition to the pools there are two BBQ grills outside that any guest can use to cook on. Plus there’s a fire pit with comfy seating to relax in for the guests. Out on the patio you can also find a basketball court and ping pong table for your entertainment.
More helpful hotel information
The hotel is conveniently located almost across the street from my favorite Target on Harbor. This Target location I have shared about many times on my Instagram page. The Target store has lots of exclusive Disney merchandise you can’t find at other Target locations or online. Be sure to check out the Target across the street on your visit.
The property now has a NEW bar on location. The Bar Fifty Five is open Wednesday through Sunday from 5 pm to 10 pm. It’s located inside the lobby. They have lots of drinks, local flavors, customized cocktails and a small bites menu. It’s nice to have a place to sit and relax after a long day at the parks.
My review
My overall impression when I walked into the newly remodeled lobby and dining area was WOW! They did a great job updating and adding a new bar area as well. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I saw them cleaning frequently plus following health and safety guidelines throughout the property.
I was very impressed with the newly remodeled rooms too. This hotel needed some freshening up and they hit the mark with this remodel. I will definitely come back and stay at this property. The quality and everything included is well worth it. The added bonus of a HOT breakfast is always a plus in my book when choosing a hotel for my Disneyland vacation.
I highly recommend staying at The Residence Inn hotel. Check pricing and availability here. Currently when you book through Get Away Today you get the 4th night free!
If you’d like to see videos of the rooms you can check out my saved highlights here on Instagram. Now go book that room, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
