Don’t forget to stay hydrated! There are several water refill stations in Disneyland including a cold filtered water option I’ll tell you about below. You can bring your own water bottle to refill throughout the day at both parks. There are drinking fountains all over the parks as well. Further down in this post I will list all the water bottle refill stations. First let’s talk about ideas to stay hydrated and keep cool.
Drink water
You can ask for a FREE cup of water at dining locations where you order at a window. They give you a cup of ice water as shown below. Ask for as many as you want.
You can bring in your own water bottles! I also like to freeze the plastic water bottles the night before. I fill them halfway, freeze and then add water the next morning. As the ice melts throughout the day you can refill and have COLD water.
Also if you want a BIG glass of water like the one below head to Starbucks locations at the Disneyland resort. There are 3 Starbucks locations on the Disneyland resort property.
- Starbucks on Main Street in Disneyland called Market House.
- Starbucks in Disney California Adventure called Fiddler Fifer & Practical Cafe on Buena Vista Street
- Starbucks East in Downtown Disney next to World of Disney
You can also refill water bottles at several water fountains throughout the parks. There are even a few attractions that have drinking fountains in the queues like Pirates, Space Mountain and Goofy’s Sky School.
These are ways to stay hydrated. If you’re looking for other tips to beat the heat I’d recommend reading these posts things to do indoors and places to eat indoors.
Water Bottle Refill Stations in Disneyland
And now the BEST thing to come to the parks are all the water bottle refill stations. These allow you to refill your tall water bottles easily. I’ve compiled a list of all the locations I know and added photos to help! And you don’t want to miss the last option, cold filtered water!
1 – Red Rose Tavern in Fantasyland – there are 2 refill stations. One is located inside the front door and to the right. Walk in like you’re going to order and take a hard right. It’s over in the corner. The other one is to the left of the entrance.
2 – Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland – the refill station is located to the left of the food ordering windows.
3 – Autopia in Tomorrowland as you exit the attraction there’s a refill station.
4 – Next to Pioneer Mercantile in the walkway between Frontierland and Adventureland.
5 – Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer’s Island there’s a water bottle refill station over on the east side of the island around by the restrooms.
6 – Rancho Del Zocalo in Frontierland is a restaurant and has outdoor seating. Kind of in the middle of the seating there is a water bottle refill station.
7 – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge inside there are 3 water bottle refill station. One at the exit of the Millennium Falcon ride and one near both restrooms.
8 – Toontown has two water refill locations. One is next to the bathroom as shown below. And the other one is by the popcorn cart near Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster.
Cold Water refill station
9 – Now for the best kept secret water refill/drinking fountain! This one is found inside the Baby Care Center at the end of Main Street in Disneyland. Anyone can go inside and use this water fountain with COLD filtered water. I asked the cast member who could come inside and use it and she said ANYONE. Be quiet and courteous in this space!
Disney California Adventure water refill stations
Now water refill stations in Disney California Adventure are few and far between. There are only two water refills stations. But you will find many water fountains spread throughout the park.
10 – One water refill station is over in Avengers Campus. It’s located next to the archway entrance of the Ancient Sanctum.
11 – A new water refill station has been added to the new San Fransokyo neighborhood in Disney California Adventure. It’s over in between the restrooms and Lucky Fortune Cookery.
12 – But I have another tip for you inside Avengers Campus. Inside Pym’s Test Kitchen there is one of those Coca-Cola Freestyle refill soda machines. I used the COLD water to refill my water bottle.
Those are all the locations in both parks. As new ones pop up I will add to this post. Lastly if you can’t find any of these refill stations ask a cast member for help. Make sure to stay hydrated especially on hot summer days!

My number one TIP – rope drop. Watch my strategies video how to rope drop Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Plus I show you the mistake I made and I don’t want you to make that same mistake!
We were there about a week ago and the freestyle machines across from Soarin are open. The cast member gave me an empty cup to use to fill my bottle. So I was able to get ice, dump it in my bottle and then get water and dump it in. I just couldn’t put my bottle at the machine. It worked out great. Anytime I can get ice, it’s great. I think Pym’s machines get much more use and were often out of ice, but we could at least get the water there.
Thank you for the update that’s good to know. It was not open when I went last. You’re right it’s not used as much for sure.
Thank you!!! Before going back to Disneyland for the first time in over 10+ years back in 2019, I searched for this exact information but it was so outdated that I couldn’t confidently rely on it. I didn’t even know over half of these since 2019 so thank you for the updated information. Can’t wait to take my Tangled inspired water bottle back to the happiest place on Earth now!
Awesome so happy to help!
We were soooooo thirsty on a super-hot September day. Walked by a Child Care Center, tucked right behind Ghiradelli’s in Pacific Wharf. I asked the cast member starting in front if there was water anywhere nearby. She said “Come on in and use the faucet. It’s filtered!”
That was really nice, as both of our 40oz Hydroflasks were nearly empty. Also, the water fountains are often next to the bathrooms…and the water tastes like it’s runoff from their sink drains.
We got ice and water from Pym’s Test Kitchen later. Worked great. Also saw a guy stealing Coke, into his water bottle. That’s probably factored into the 5000% markup in their füd pricing.
Thanks for the info on your site.
Love the water and ice refill at Pym’s Test Kitchen. Glad you found good tasting water too!
