Disney recipes at home
Over the past month I’ve been baking my favorite Disney recipes at home. I have shared many that came directly from the parks. You used to be able to get original recipes at City Hall in Disneyland. They have stopped providing them, but the Disney Parks Blog has shared some recently. When they posted the churro recipe I was very excited. I have been waiting to try it until closer to Cinco de Mayo. I thought these would be the perfect addition to our at home party!

You will need to grab the following ingredients. You probably already have most of these items in your pantry right now to get started.
I’ve linked my cute Mickey shaped bowls here.
Churro Bites original Disney recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 8 tablespoons butter
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 ½ cups vegetable or canola oil
- ½ cup sugar
Instructions
1 – Combine water, butter, salt, and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon in 1 ½-quart saucepan over medium heat. Bring pot to rolling boil.
2 – Reduce heat to low. Add flour and stir vigorously until mix forms a ball.
3 – Remove from heat and let rest for 5-7 min.
4 – Add eggs, one at a time, and stir until combined. Set aside. The dough was very easy to make.
5 – Using caution, heat oil in medium skillet or 1-quart saucepan over medium-high heat or until temperature reaches 350˚. Make sure your oil is at the right temperature. You don’t want your churros to cook too fast. Get a reliable thermometer here.
6 – Spoon dough into piping bag fitted with large star tip. I didn’t have piping bags so I used a ziploc baggie. I cut the tip off and put my large star tip inside. If you’re looking for a large star piping tip check out some of my recommendations here. Next time I will use piping bags because I used several baggies to make this batch. The dough oozed out everywhere and made a mess. But with the proper tools, piping bags, you can avoid the mess. Purchase piping bags here.
7 – Pipe 1-inch strip of dough over saucepan, cut with knife, and drop into hot oil. Repeat until churro bites fill saucepan with room to fry.
8 – Fry churro bites until golden brown. Remove with slotted spoon or mesh spider strainer. Drain churro bites on paper towel.
9 – Mix sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon in medium bowl. Toss in churro bites until coated.
10 – Place on serving plate and serve with favorite dipping sauce. We tried caramel sauce and chocolate sauce, delish. Serves 4. Enjoy!
The consistency and taste of the churro bites were spot on. I could have closed my eyes, turned on music and been right back on Main Street U.S.A.
These tasty little treats pack up nicely too. You could package them up and deliver to a friend in need of some Disney magic.
