Pixar Place Hotel is one of three on site properties located at the Disneyland Resort. This newly reimagined hotel is across the street from Disney California Adventure Park with it’s own private entrance. The newly themed hotel has so many Pixar details throughout from the artwork to the Toy Story throw pillow on the beds! I’ve stayed at all three properties the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and recently at Pixar Place Hotel. One of the benefits included is Early Entry, access into one of the parks 30 minutes every morning before regular day guests. I’ve participated in Early Entry from all three hotels. I have tips for each hotel in their corresponding articles found on my website for Disney’s Grand Californian and The Disneyland Hotel. In this article we will discuss Early Entry from Pixar Place as well as why I really loved staying at this new hotel!

About the rooms
I love the bright fun new rooms at Pixar Place! There are two room types. They offer 2 queen beds with a sofa sleeper, which sleeps up to 5 guests. Or 1 king bed with a sofa sleeper, which sleeps up to 3 guests.
Everywhere you look in the room you see a Pixar touch, the Luxo Lamp, Pixar Ball throw pillow, Pixar artwork on the walls and a cool Pixar films book in each room. The bathroom was bright and spacious with a full length mirror behind the sliding barn door. Each room has a good size closet, coffee maker, mini fridge, TV and desk. I booked our discounted room through Get Away Today, more details found at the end of this article.
Early Entry perks for guests at the Pixar Place Hotel
When you stay at the Pixar Place Hotel every morning you get into the parks 30 minutes before other park guests. There are two ways to get into the park for Early Entry. We tested both ways when we stayed and I only recommend one entrance for Early Entry. There is a private entrance for hotel guests into Disney California Adventure, but don’t use this one for Early Entry (see photo below). Use this entrance during the day, but not for access to Early Entry. I’ll explain more why further down.
Instead follow the map below and walk over to the Grand Californian hotel, go through the gate, head through the lobby and look for signs directing you to the Downtown Disney security checkpoint.
This security point through Downtown Disney opens at 7:00 a.m. whereas the other private entrance doesn’t open until 7:20ish. You should leave your room at 6:30 a.m. The security line will start moving at 7:00 a.m. Head through Downtown Disney to line up in front of the gates. Around 7:25 a.m. they will let you in the assigned park. Look for Early Entry signs and then follow all my Early Entry tips.
Proximity to Disneyland
Pixar Place hotel is within close walking distance to both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. You can walk to the parks cutting through Disney’s Grand Californian and on through Downtown Disney as shown in the map above. There is another entrance/exit into Disney California Adventure that’s very convenient with direct access. It’s located across from the Golden Zephyr in Disney California Adventure.
Dining options at Pixar Place Hotel
There are a few options on site where you can eat. We loved the Great Maple restaurant just down from the lobby. They are famous for their maple bacon donuts. We found the portions to be very large and shareable. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Also located near the lobby is the Sketch Pad Cafe’ with grab and go items as well as coffee. In addition out by the pool there is casual dining with snacks, drinks and more at Small Bytes.
Parking
There is parking on property including self or valet parking options. Parking fees apply.
Pool
The pool area is such a vibe with tons of outdoor seating. The pool is heated year round plus there is a hot tub, a large Pixar themed kids splash area and a water slide! There are firepits and lounging spaces. An option to view fireworks on select nights. Plus they have some fun games set up for anyone to play. Plan some pool time when you stay at Pixar Place Hotel.
Meet Bing Bong
When you step into the lobby be on the lookout for Bing Bong. He’s out to meet guests periodically throughout the day. If he’s not there when you check in ask a cast member when he’ll be out next. This is a fun way to meet a character with no line!
Other don’t miss Pixar Place Hotel fun
Throughout the hotel search for 16 hidden Pixar characters. Find them all over like this one below as you step onto one of the elevators. Also inside the lobby is the cutest gift shop with lots of Pixar themed merchandise as well as Pixar Place Hotel exclusive items. The gift shop named STOR-E has a fun game every day. When you’re inside look for Forky. If you’re the fist guest to find him you get a sticker. Fun freebie for the kids!
